Ethnic Health Forum since it was established has strived to come up with innovative ideas and developments within health and social care information sector. EHF identified clear gaps in the information sector and has attempted to fill it with minimal resources.

EHF Aims:

(1)        To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the minority ethnic communities in the United Kingdom and in the developing countries in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their health and social care needs and enable them to participate more fully in the local society.

(2)        The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by:
(a)        promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds in health and social care;
(b)        conducting or commissioning research on equality and diversity issues in health and social sciences and publishing the results to the public;
(c)        cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity;

(3)        The promotion of racial harmony for the public benefit by working towards the elimination of discrimination in health and social care services on the grounds of race, culture, language and religion.

(4)        The promotion of sustainable development for the benefit of the public by: 
(a)        the relief of poverty and the improvement of the conditions of life in socially and disadvantaged communities; (the promotion of sustainable means of achieving growth and regeneration in health, social care and personal development);

(5)        To advance the education of the public in the subject of health, social care and personal development.
